NoClosetSpace, The History of Gay Key West is more than just a documentary film. It’s and entire initiative about archiving the past; it’s about creating a legacy that informs and inspires. Your materials will be immortalized within the Monroe County Library archives, serving as a permanent testament to the rich and diverse history of Gay Key West.
What We Are Looking For:
• Your Stories: Your memories. Contact Us.
• Old Photographs: Pictures that capture moments, people, and places significant to Key West’s LGBTQ+ history.
• Vintage Videos: Home movies, recordings of events, or any visual media that document the community’s past.
• Historical Newspapers and Documents: Articles, flyers, letters, or any paper materials that provide insight into the life and times of LGBTQ+ individuals and groups in Key West
How The Materials Will Be Used:
Your materials may be invaluable in our mission to tell the story about the vibrant history of LGBTQ+ Key West, in the documentary film NoClosetSpace The History Of Gay Key West, in online videos and posts and more.
You will receive full credit for all of your donated materials that are used. You will also receive:
• Free Digitization: We will digitize all contributed materials that we use in our efforts at no cost to you, ensuring they are preserved digitally for future generations.
• Copies Provided: You will receive digital copies of your materials, so you can keep them for personal use while sharing them with the community.
• Archival Inclusion: Contributed materials used will ultimately become part of the official archive at the Key West Library. This offers a unique opportunity to ensure your contributions are recognized and accessible to researchers, historians, and the public for generations to come.
